Nikiforos Panourgias (Ph.D. London School of Economics) is a Senior Research Fellow at FINTECHNEXT, who joined from the University of Leicester for a two-year engagement. Before joining the University of Leicester School of Business in November 2013 as an Associate Professor, Dr. Panourgias was Assistant Professor at the Information Systems Management Group of Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick, having joined WBS as a post-doctoral researcher in September 2008 to work on an ESRC-funded project on interdisciplinary collaboration in the design and development of digital games.

Christos Papadopoulos – Filelis (Ph.D. University of Thrace) is a Research Fellow at FINTECHNEXT, whose research interests include preconditioned iterative methods, multigrid and multilevel methods as well as parallel computing, cloud computing, big data and machine learning. He has over 80 publications in the above research areas and participated in several European (H2020) and National funded projects. He taught in several universities as an adjunct faculty member and as a researcher to the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH).

Milad Armani Dehghani (Ph.D. Sapienza University of Rome) is a Research Fellow at FINTECHNEXT. He primarily investigates Information systems, Human-technology interaction, Digital innovation, Emerging technologies, and Patent analysis. He has a proven track record of research in publications and actively engages as a guest editor and ad-hoc reviewer in more than 15 technological innovation journals. Before joining FINTECHNEXT, he worked in different roles in academia and industry across more than five countries.

Panagiotis E. Kyziropoulos (Ph.D. University of Thrace) is a Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at FINTECHNEXT, whose research interests include Applied Mathematics, Scientific Computing, Parallel, Distributed and Cloud computing, Big Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Visualization techniques and User Experience (UX) as well as the wider field of Computer Science. Prior to joining FINTECHNEXT, he was a Post-Doctoral researcher at CNRS – France (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) on LAM (Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Marseille) and a researcher in the CloudLightning EU H2020 Project.

Dionysios Karavidas (Ph.D. University of Kiel) is a Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at FINTECHNEXT with an interdisciplinary research portfolio, which is based on the use of econometrical and statistical methods on topics related to International Trade, Regulation and Governance, Taxation and FinTech. Prior to joining FINTECHNEXT, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Limerick involved with the COFFERS project (Combating Fiscal Fraud and Empowering Regulators), funded by the EU through Horizon 2020 program.

Rocio Isabel Paez (Ph.D. University of Rome “Tor Vergata”) is a Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at FINTECHNEXT. Her research area is in Applied Mathematics, focusing on non-linear and complex dynamical systems, and her expertise includes the application of advanced methods of perturbation theory as well as high performance computational methods for phase-space analysis and the characterization of dynamics of complex systems. Prior to joining FINTECHNEXT, she was a Post-Doctoral researcher at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Padua in Italy and at the Research Center for Astronomy and Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Athens in Greece.

Rafiqul Haque (Ph.D. University of Limerick) is a Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at FINTECHNEXT and has held various positions in both academia and industry in different organisations/research centres in Ireland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. His research focuses on big data management, scalable and high-performance solution architecture for data intensive applications, and big data analytics. Prior to joining FINTECHNEXT, he was the head of product and service development division at Intelligencia in France and led a data science team to develop AI solutions for Microsoft Azure AI Services.

Adrian Spătaru (Ph.D. West University of Timisoara and University of Pisa) is a Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at FINTECHNEXT with research interests in the field of Distributed and Parallel Computing, more specifically Blockchain and decentralised systems. Additionally his interests include Cloud Computing and the advancement of the Cloud Continuum (encompassing the spectrum from Cloud to Edge devices), as well as Machine Learning approaches such as genetic or evolutionary algorithms. Adrian is a technical person with vast experience in the design, development, integration and optimisation of distributed systems and components. Prior to joining FINTECHNEXT, Adrian has worked in several EU-funded and government-funded research projects at West University of Timisoara and Institute e-Austria Timisoara in Romania.

Quang Minh Nhi Nguyen (Ph.D. University College Cork) is a Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at FINTECHNEXT. Her research interests include corporate finance, financial data investigation, fund performance and Fintech.
